Dream Team of Comedy Legends

The Dream Team of Comedy Legends will take over the stage at the Julie Rogers Theatre on Saturday, July 23, at 8 p.m.

Enjoy laughter from an all-star lineup featuring Chris “The Mayor” Thomas, Reginald “Bruh-Man” Ballard plus HBO’s “Def Comedy Jam” comedians Honest John, Shuckey Duckey, Alonzo Jones and Brian Hooks.

Thomas is an award-winning comedian who is best known for his roles as the host of “Rap City” and “BET’s Original Hip hop King of Comedy.” He also was a regular on

“Honest” John Basinger was a fan-favorite on BET’s “Comic View” as well as the famous “Showtime at the Apollo.” After a two-year run on “Def Comedy Jam,” Honest John guest starred on “The Jamie Fox Show,” “Lyricist Lounge” and “Showtime in Harlem.”

Hooks actor, producer, director as well as a comedian. He is best known for his roles as Protagonist Rob Douglas in “3 Strikes” and as Nick Delaney in “Eve.”

A native of Dallas, Texas, Cecil Armstrong goes by the stage name “Shuckey Duckey.” Known for his catchphrase, “Shuckey duckey quack quack,” Armstrong has appeared in numerous television shows and was the ringmaster for the “Universoul Circus.”

Jones can easily be recognized thanks to his cowboy hat and catchphrase, “hamburger.”

The one and only Reginald Ballard was born in Galveston and became a house hold name thanks to his reappearing role as “Bruh-Man” on the popular television series, “Martin.”
