LIT President resignation announced

Lamar Institute of Technology President Lonnie Howard will resign his position in July 2022, according to a statement from the Texas State University System (TSUS).

TSUS Chancellor Brian McCall reported that more information regarding the search for Howard’s replacement will begin in the next couple weeks.

“Dr. Howard has made a remarkable impact on Lamar Institute of Technology, achieving six consecutive years of enrollment growth, improving the institute’s financial position, and finding new ways to positively impact lives and the economy in Southeast Texas,” McCall stated. “I am grateful for Dr. Howard’s service to LIT and the Texas State University System, and I wish him well in the next chapter of his career.”
