Mississippi State hired Nederland native Kevin Barbay as the team’s new offensive coordinator. Barbay, 40, took the job after leading Appalachian State to one of the nation’s top offenses. He has also spent time at Central Michigan and Florida.

Nederlanders to lose water Saturday

According to an alert from the city of Nederland, residents in the area of Detroit to Helena between 17th and 24th Streets will be without water service for several hours on Saturday, Aug. 21. The power outage is expected to commence at 10 a.m. and “should take no more than 4 hours.
