Regional transit study underway by SETRPC

The South East Texas Regional Planning Commission (SETRPC) is currently conducting a Regional Transit Connectivity Study to assess the demand for regional transit services connecting cities and towns in Southeast Texas.

An area man was arrested on felony child sex charge, according to a Silsbee Police Department arrest report. Jan. 11, Christopher Scott Sundgren, 40, was arrested for aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first-degree felony.

Silsbee PD substance suspects

Two people were arrested on multiple charges on the same day, according to the Silsbee Police Department. Jan. 6, Brandon Dwayne McGalin, 35, was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm by felon, a third-degree felony and possession of a controlled substance, Penalty Group 1, 200-400 grams.

Four teens injured in Silsbee speeding crash

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) investigated a single-vehicle crash on Neyland Road, just north of Mormon Road, near Silsbee on Jan. 5. The preliminary investigation indicates that, at approximately 4:50 p.m., a 2004 GMC pickup was traveling south.
