The Orange Convention and Visitors Bureau will host the 21st annual Art in the Park and fourth annual Orange Riverfront Car Show on Saturday, April 1. These events will join forces to provide a day full of fun from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Spring Break Shootout

The Orange Convention and Visitor’s Bureau is teaming up with Nauti Water Racing to host the Spring Break Shootout Jet Ski Races, March 17-18, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the City of Orange Boat Ramp located at 1000 Simmons Drive.

Mardi Gras on the Sabine

The Orange Chamber of Commerce and CVB will join forces to host their 20th annual Mardi Gras on Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Riverside Pavilion (708 Simmons Dr.) near the city’s boat ramp. The festival opens at 10 a.m. that includes DJ music, food trucks, kids’ activities, munchkin parade at 1 p.m.

Vegetable canning class planned

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office, 11475 FM 1442 in Orange, will host a vegetable canning class on Saturday, March 4. Hands on canning will be taught by Family and Community Health Agent Fallon White. The class is $35 per person and payment is due by Feb. 24. Call (409) 882-7010 to register.

Scholarship pageant set in Orange Co.

The annual Miss Orange County Scholarship Pageant is Saturday, April 1, in the Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School Auditorium. The contest is open to Orange County residents only, ages 9-18. Deadline to register is Feb. 28. For more information, visit www.missorangecountytx.org.

Gang member arrested on drug charges

A search warrant led to the arrest of a 44-year-old gang member on drug charges on Jan. 19, reported the Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO).
