Mural Festival to make more magic

The history of murals is traced back some 30,000 years ago when humans painted images on the walls of caves and other natural surfaces, making it one of the oldest forms of visual arts. The artwork incorporates the architecture of the building to bring out the painting and the building as one.

Classic Movie Night

Jumpstart Mural Fest at the Jefferson Theatre at 345 Fannin St. in downtown Beaumont on Fridyy, March 3, for Classic Movie Night, with the showing of the 2010 documentary film, “Exit Through the Gift Shop,” at 7 p.m.

Crowds rove downtown for artist event

City buildings came to life as 17 artists participating in Beaumont’s Mural Festival officially started working on their masterpieces throughout downtown the weekend of March 4. The flourishing mural scene took center stage as they transformed Beaumont into one of the most colorful cities in Texas.
