Mardi Gras Southeast Texas returns to Beaumont near the Great Lawn of the Downtown Event Centre (700 Crockett St.) on Feb. 16-19 and will include parades, concerts, food, attractions, carnival midway, arts and crafts, and, of course, plenty of beads.
The festivities will officially begin at 5 p.m.
The Orange Chamber of Commerce and CVB will join forces to host their 20th annual Mardi Gras on Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Riverside Pavilion (708 Simmons Dr.) near the city’s boat ramp.
The festival opens at 10 a.m. that includes DJ music, food trucks, kids’ activities, munchkin parade at 1 p.m.
Traditions of Mardi Gras can be traced to medieval Europe, which passed through Rome and Venice in the 17th and 18th Centuries to the French House of the Bourbons. In America, records indicate the first celebration came in 1703.
Get tickets now for the upcoming Mardi Gras Ball, presented by the American Legion Auxiliary in Beaumont. The “dress to impress” Mardi Gras Ball event will kickoff Mardi Gras season, with a BYOB shindig on Saturday, Feb. 11, from 7 p.m.
