Two named all-state choir

Lumberton High School junior Grace Dunwoody and freshman Emerson Treme were named to the Texas All State Choir recently. This is Dunwoody’s second time being named All-State. Next month, both students will perform in San Antonio at the Texas Music Educators’ Association Convention.

LISD sets meeting for sub teachers

An “interest meeting” on becoming a substitute teacher for Lumberton ISD is set from 9 – 9:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at the LISD Administration Office, 121 South Main. The meeting will give people an opportunity to ask questions and get details about becoming a substitute teacher.

Lumberton woman crowned Ms. USA Pure International

  A Lumberton woman is now wearing the crown as Ms. USA awarded at the Pure International Pageant earlier last month in Columbus, Ohio. Tricia Hidalgo, who won the Ms. Texas Pageant in October, received her crown on July 3. “It’s very exciting and overwhelming!” said Hidalgo.

Adam Ehlert of Lumberton graduated from Hood College this month. Ehlert earned as Master's Degree of Science in Computer Science. Hood College, an independent, liberal arts college, is located in Frederick, Maryland.
