The Beaumont Police Department asked for the public’s help July 27 in identifying an aggravated robbery suspect that allegedly robbed clerks at L & P Market, 2855 Washington, twice in 10 days. The suspect is described as a black male, skinny and between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8.

Former mayor, husband sentenced

Former Richardson Mayor Laura Jordan, and the land developer she married after a federal investigation began, have been sentenced for public corruption convictions in the Eastern District of Texas, U.S. Attorney Brit Featherston announced this past week.

Teens indicted on attempted BPD shooting

July 27, a Jefferson County grand jury indicted two Beaumont teenagers for allegedly attempting to fire a gun at Beaumont police officers weeks before. A grand jury indicted Jalon Nixon, 18, and Reginald Guillory, 19, for aggravated assault on a peace officer July 27.

Woman with active warrants arrested

Officers arrested a Spurger woman, who had two active arrest warrants from Hardin County, July 21, according to Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford.

Lumerton PD nabs four for DWIs

The Lumberton Police Department (LPD) arrested four people for driving while intoxicated (DWI), along with five other arrests during the period of July 19-26. LPD arrested Jonathan K. Lester, 23, July 20 for DWI with a child passenger under age 15, a felony.

Man brings gun to HHS office

July 26, at approximately 1:16 a.m., officers from the Port Arthur Police Department were dispatched to 4200 Jimmy Johnson Blvd., the Texas Health and Human Services Offices, in reference to a man with a gun who had pointed the gun at a person.

Gun trumps knife

The Beaumont Police Department (BPD) reported an aggravated robbery warrant against 63-year-old William Coleman, who was admitted to a local hospital for multiple gunshot wounds sustained when he allegedly committed an aggravated robbery on July 22 at the Everest Food Mart, 2810 Eastex Freeway.

Suspect arrested for 2005 Cleveland double murder

July 8, Shelley Susan Thompson-Lemoine, 41, of Freeport, was arrested for the 2005 deaths of Antonio and Luz Rodriguez in Cleveland, Texas. Thompson-Lemoine was taken into police custody at the parole office in Angleton by the Texas Rangers and detectives from the Cleveland Police Department.

Man sentenced to prison for fondling 11 year old

Criminal District Attorney Bob Wortham announced July 22 that a jury found Percy Andrepont, 68, guilty of two counts of indecency with a child. Judge Raquel West sentenced Andrepont to serve 50 years in prison on each count after hearing punishment evidence from an additional victim.

Sex offender sought

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office secured a warrant for the arrest of convicted sex offender Robert James Perry on July 21, and is asking for the public’s help in bringing the fleeing felon to justice.
