Beaumont to conduct fire hyrdrant maintenance

Beaumont, Texas (October 28, 2026) – Beaumont Fire-Rescue will be conducting routine fire hydrant maintenance throughout several Beaumont neighborhoods during the month of November.

From November 1 through November 30, crews will be working in areas served by Fire Stations 1, 2, 3 and 4. Maintenance will include inspecting hydrants, flushing water through the system and clearing vegetation around hydrants to ensure they are accessible and functioning properly in the event of an emergency.

Residents may notice firefighters opening hydrants and allowing water to flow into nearby streets. This is a normal part of the maintenance process and helps ensure hydrants are operating as intended.

In some cases, hydrant flushing may cause temporary water discoloration at nearby homes and businesses. Residents who experience discolored water are asked to contact Beaumont 311 immediately so the issue can be reported and addressed.

This routine maintenance is an important part of Beaumont Fire-Rescue's ongoing efforts to maintain fire hydrants throughout the City and ensure firefighters have access to reliable water sources when responding to emergencies.

Additional hydrant maintenance will be scheduled in other areas of the City following the completion of this phase.
