The city of Beaumont has been notified by the Federal Railroad administration that the suspension of the West End Quiet Zone has been lifted. Union Pacific Railroad has also been notified. It syill may take some time for the information to reach all railroad personnel and engineers operating trains through the area. Residents may still heara horns during this transition perod. Train engineers may also sound their horns whenever they determine that safety concerns exists.
