Auto burglaries and thefts are down over the past 12 months in Beaumont. From January to August of 2026, 209 auto burglaries and 118 unauthorized use of a motor vehicle were reported in the city. Over the same period 2025, 350 auto burglaries and 181 unauthorized use of a motor vehicle occurred in Beaumont. “We believe citizens are listening and they are locking their vehicles” Officer Rodrick Williams told The Examiner. In most cases, vehicles that are broken into or stolen are left unlocked. Williams added “Do not leave valuables visible and if there is a firearm in the vehicle, secure it in a lockbox and keep it out of sight”. Police want to remind citizens if they witness someone breaking into a vehicle, don’t approach them. Call Beaumont police and give them a detailed description of the suspect.
