A good samaritan help save the life of a little girl following a wreck Friday morning. The driver left the road into a wooded area in the 2200 block of Major Drive in Beaumont. The vehicle caught fire. When officers arrived the good samaritan was reaching into the vechile to pull the child to safety. An officer handed the man a knife to help cut the child from the child safety seat. It appears the driver had a medical situation that led to the wreck. Beaumont resident Chris Meyer arrived on the scene after the crash. "The man that pulled the little girl to safety had cuts on his arms and legs from rescuing her from the vehicle, he is a true hometown hero" Meyers told The Examiner. Meyers provide water and Gatorade to those in need at the scene. We talked to a clerk at the nearby Dollar General. She did not hear anything, but she stepped outside and saw a lot of smoke.
