Christus Health Southeast Texas celebrated a milestone this week after completing 10,000 assisted surgery cases. Roboitc is a tool that is used to do more cmplicated procedures with smaller incisions "It's like having the surgeons hands shrink down inside the body" says Hollie McDonald, Public Relations Specialist II for Christus Health. Surgeries performed includes inguinal and esophageal hernia repairs, hysterectomies, oval removal, and sarocolpopexy. Doctors will explain the robot does not do the actual surgery. it is an extension of the surgeon's hands. McDonald says "Patients think its so cool when they "meet" to robot in the room".
