Comedian to perform two shows Saturday, May 9, at Jefferson Theatre
Houston-born comedian Ali Siddiq is bringing his sharp wit and masterful storytelling on “The Custom Fit Tour” to Beaumont for a night of laughter that promises both humor and heart. Siddiq is set to perform two shows on Saturday, May 9, at the historic Jefferson Theatre in downtown, giving Southeast Texas audiences a chance to experience one of stand-up’s most compelling voices up close.
The first show, 7 p.m., is sold out, but tickets are available for the 10 p.m. starting at $43 and can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com.
Known for his captivating, narrative-driven style, Siddiq has built a loyal following by turning real-life experiences into unforgettable comedy. Rather than relying on rapid-fire punchlines, he draws audiences in with richly detailed stories, often pulled from his own life – including his time spent incarcerated, which has become the foundation for some of his most acclaimed material.
Siddiq first gained national attention as a finalist on NBC’s “Bring the Funny,” but fans of stand-up comedy have long recognized him for specials like “It’s Bigger Than These Bars” and his popular online storytelling series. His ability to blend humor with honesty has set him apart in a crowded comedy landscape, earning praise for both his authenticity and his timing.
Since, Siddiq has continued to expand his reach with a string of acclaimed specials, including “The Domino Effect,” a multi-part series, which has amassed 47 million views and blends humor with deeply personal storytelling. The project showcases his skill at weaving together moments of hardship, growth and humor in a way that feels less like a stand-up set and more like a one-man show.
He recently won the 2026 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Variety (Series or Special) for his comedy special, “My Two Sons,” which marked the first time an independently produced and released YouTube special has been nominated and/or won a major award. Seven of Ali’s specials are on Neilson’s “Top 50 Biggest YouTube Specials of All Time”
In an era where many comedians chase viral moments, Siddiq’s work feels intentionally grounded. His comedy doesn’t beg for attention; it earns it. Each story unfolds like a conversation, pulling the audience closer until they’re fully immersed in his world.
We spoke to Siddiq about his life in comedy, inspirations, strong storytelling and what it’s like to be one of the funniest people on the planet.
