A Vidor man was killed in a residential fire in the 200 block of Filmore Street on April 20.
The Vidor Police Department was called to the scene at about 12:33 a.m. and officers found the home heavily engulfed in flames. While securing the scene, officers located an adult female at a neighboring residence. She said her husband remained inside the home along with several family pets and that she escaped after breaking a window.
Acadian Ambulance Service personnel treated her injuries. She was transported to a local hospital and later transferred to a specialized facility.
Orange County ESD No. 1 firefighters worked for several hours to bring the fire under control. During suppression efforts, firefighters found a deceased adult male inside the residence near the front entryway.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
