Traffic alert for Jefferson, Orange & Liberty counties, highway closures to cause delays

The Texas Office of Emergency Management announced highway closures for the week of March 17-21 throughout Jefferson, Orange and Liberty counties.

Jefferson County:

The US 69 southbound connector (Port Arthur exit) from IH10 westbound will be closed from 8 p.m. Monday, March 16 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, March 17. Contractors will be moving the portable concrete traffic barrier. Please use an alternate route and expect delays.

Alternating lane closures will also occur on US 90 from FM 365 to Henderson Avenue beginning Tuesday, March 17 to Friday, March 20. Daily closures will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Expect delays.

Additionally, the SH 73 eastbound at US 69 will be closed from 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, to 4 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, and the SH 73 westbound at US 69 will be closed from 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, to 4 a.m. Thursday, March 19. On both nights, crews will be working on the concrete bridge decks and overhang brackets. Please use an alternate route.

The left lane of the IH‑10 westbound frontage road at Brooks Road will be closed from noon Tuesday, March 17, to noon Wednesday, March 18. Crews will be installing a dynamic message sign (DMS) board. Expect delays.

Orange County:

Alternating lane closures will occur on IH‑10 in both eastbound and westbound directions from Old US Hwy 90 to SH 87 beginning Monday, March 16, through Saturday, March 21. Nightly closures will take place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. while contractors work on overhead signs. Expect delays.

Liberty County: 

Intermittent stops will occur on FM 770 in both eastbound and westbound directions near the Whites Bayou Bridge from Tuesday, March 17, through Friday, March 20, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Contractors will be placing permanent striping. Expect delays.
