Lamar University students, staff and faulty were alerted of an on-going threat on campus, June 11.
According to the emergency alert, at approximately 12:15 p.m., an individual was observed dressed in construction clothing, entering the library construction zone. When approached, they determined the individual was not authorized to be in the building, or was not a construction employee. The individual made a threat to himself and was in possession of flammable material.
LUPD called for an evacuation of campus to ensure the safety of all faculty, staff and students.
This is an on-going story that will be updated as it develops.
UPDATE: LUPD has issued an all clear. Campus operations will be closed for the remainder of June 11 and will reopen June 12.
