The is a 1,460-seat performing arts facility is owned by the Nelda C. and H. J. Lutcher Stark Foundation and operated by Lutcher Theater, Inc. and is the largest Performing Arts Series from Houston to New Orleans.
The 2025-26 season was recently revealed with a lineup of Broadway hits, concerts and live performances.
This season’s Broadway highlights include “The Addams Family,” “A Christmas Story, The Musical,” “TINA – The Tina Turner Musical,” “Mrs. Doubtfire,” “Kinky Boots,” “Clue” and the classic favorite, “Meredith Willson’s The Music Man.”
Just in time for Halloween, “The Addams Family” opens the season Thursday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. A comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, “The Addams Family” is the magnificently macabre hit musical featuring everyone’s favorite creepy, kooky characters. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. A man her parents have never met. And if that weren’t upsetting enough, she confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.
“We are kicking things off in October with one of my favorite musicals,” said Andy McCall, marketing manager for the Lutcher Theater. “I had the pleasure of seeing ‘The Addams Family’ as a Lutcher patron when it came here 12 years ago. I came in expecting it to be fun and campy like the TV show. However, I ended up being blown away at how incredible this show really was.
“Not only does it have the hilarity and silliness we all remember from the classic TV show of the 1960s, but the musical numbers will leave you cheering in awe. The ensemble really carries this show and is among the best I’ve ever seen. I remember leaping out of my seat as soon as the curtain call began.”
Get in the Christmas spirit with “A Christmas Story, The Musical” for two nights, Nov. 18-19. From the songwriting team behind the smash hit Tony Award-winning musical “Dear Evan Hansen” and the critically acclaimed films “La La Land” and “The Greatest Showman,” this musical brings the classic 1983 movie to hilarious life on stage. Set in 1940s Indiana, a young and bespectacled Ralphie Parker schemes his way toward the holiday gift of his dreams, an official Red Ryder Carbine-Action 200-Shot Range Model Air Rifle.
An infamous leg lamp, outrageous pink bunny pajamas, a maniacal department store Santa and a triple-dog-dare to lick a freezing flagpole are just a few of the distractions that stand between Ralphie and his Christmas wish.
A new musical comedy about the things we do to stay together. Everyone’s favorite Scottish nanny comes to the Lutcher stage in this internationally acclaimed hit musical critics call “wonderful, heart-warming, and laugh-out-loud funny” (Manchester Evening News) and “a feel-good, family-friendly comedy that delivers” (The Hollywood Reporter). Based on the beloved film, “Mrs. Doubtfire” tells the hysterical and heartfelt story of an out-of-work actor who will do anything for his kids. Two changes to see this musical – Feb. 24-25, 2026.
“Our patrons will get the chance to see ‘Clue’ here May 12, which is a full month before that very same production will be in Houston,” said McCall. “We often like to tell Southeast Texans and Southwest Louisianans that we are ‘Houston without the hassle.’ Our tickets are way more affordable. Parking is always free for us. And you can save a ton on gas money. Our seasons are different, however, a lot of the same shows that come here to our own backyard also go to the big cities like Houston and New Orleans.”
In addition to Broadway, the Lutcher will host an exciting mix of concerts and special events, including Brothers of the Heart, “The Grand Ol’ Christmas Show,” “Step Afrika!” and “Richard Thomas in Mark Twain Tonight by Hal Holbrook.”
McCall said longtime Lutcher patrons may recall Holbrook performing on the Lutcher stage many times.
“With the passing of Mr. Holbrook, TV icon and Emmy winner Richard Thomas is the first and only actor authorized to perform the play since the original,” said McCall. “My generation and up will, of course, remember him in ‘The Waltons.’ Younger audiences may have seen him in the dramatic series ‘Ozark.’”
An evening of mischief and music from two very familiar faces. It’s like the Rat Pack… but with a couple of broads. Join Emmy Award-winner Jane Lynch and the hilariously charming Kate Flannery for a raucous night of comedy, song and unapologetic mischief in “The Trouble with Angels” on Feb. 15, 2026.
With powerhouse vocals, razor-sharp wit and more than a few surprises, these two beloved stars serve up a cocktail of classic tunes, campy banter and devilish charm. It’s part cabaret, part stand-up and all sass – because when these angels get together, heaven can wait.
