Take a trip back into time to the Golden Age of Hollywood as iconic movie stars emerged when movie studios like MGM, Warner Bros., Paramount, 20th Century Fox, and RKO produced classic films such as “Gone With the Wind,” “The Wizard of Oz,” “Singin’ in the Rain,” “Casablanca,” “King Kong,” “It Happened One Night” and “Citizen Kane.”
Uncover the magic of Classic Hollywood cinema as the Beaumont Civic Center is transformed into the Golden Age of Hollywood during Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas Foundation’s largest fundraiser – La Soirée on Saturday, Jan. 25, at 6:30 p.m.
“La Soirée is extremely important,” said Kim Moncla, executive director of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas Foundation. “It’s our largest fundraiser of the year and it funds our new cancer center that is being built and will benefit our patients. We’re going to be able to offer state of the art services right there on College Street for everyone in the region. Each project makes a huge difference in the lives of the patients and families served. We could not do what we do without the community support.”
Nicole and Mike Albanese are the chairs of the “Party of the Year” and came up with this year’s theme.
“The Albaneses are community leaders who have always had an interest and have been close with Baptist Hospital,” said Moncla. “It seemed like a perfect time to ask them. They are very generous and community-minded people who love to help build the community.”
Dress to impress and experience a festive evening with music by the Symphony of Southeast Texas, which leads up to a high-energy performance by the Party Crashers, who brings a consistent dynamism to the soirée every year. This seven-piece attraction will keep the dance floor packed all evening. The décor will once again be impressive as will the menu created that includes a variety of appetizers main dishes, deserts and so much more.
“Beginning with the creativity with our chairs, they all come up with amazing ideas,” said Moncla. “We actually have one of our physician’s wives who is constructing boxes that will be used for movie posters. We have so many people that put their hands and their hearts into this endeavor.”
This year’s La Soirée will also honor the Mason Family, including the late Chuck Mason and his wife Becky.
“The Masons were some of our very first chairs of La Soirée,” said Moncla. “Mr. Mason was very instrumental in our patient portal program. They have been involved with our cancer program for a very long time and they are special people to us. We are going to dedicate the third floor of our new cancer center, which is the chemotherapy area, and it will be named the Chuck and Becky Infusion Center.”
Tickets start at $250 each and table sponsorships range from $2,500 to $50,000. For tickets and underwriting opportunities, call (409) 212-6113 or view bhsetfoundation.org.
“Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our board, chairs, committee members, and supporters, the Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas Foundation has been able to fund numerous projects that directly benefit the people of Southeast Texas,” said Nicole and Mike Albanese. “This year, the event will support the Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas Cancer Center project. Previous La Soirée galas have enabled vital improvements at the Julie and Ben Rogers Cancer Institute, essential equipment updates for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and a complete renovation of the Dauphin Women’s Center. Each of these projects has made a profound impact on the lives of our patients and their families.
“In addition to these large-scale projects, the foundation is committed to meeting the immediate needs of our patients. For cancer patients, this includes providing essential services like transportation, ensuring they can continue their treatments without interruption.
“Your support is more crucial now than ever. By purchasing a table, securing tickets, or making a donation, you partner with us in delivering the highest quality healthcare to your neighbors in Southeast Texas, right here at home.
“Thank you for your unwavering support of the Sacred Work of Baptist Hospitals.”
Moncla added that the community’s support is extremely vital, and that all net proceeds stay local.
“We’re not sending anything off to any corporate arm. Everything raised here stays here.”
