Gavin DeGraw will captivate audiences at the 42nd annual CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Foundation Gala. The Grammy Award-nominated and multi- platinum singer-songwriter will lead a night of meaningful impact Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Beaumont Civic Center.
“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Gavin DeGraw to this year’s CHRISTUS Gala,” said Teri Hawthorne, foundation executive director. “His electrifying presence and powerhouse performance will make this a night to remember, adding yet another unforgettable moment to our Gala’s incredible legacy.”
The CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Foundation consistently raises the bar with top-tier entertainment. Past Gala lineups have featured celebrated artists such as Keith Urban, James Taylor, Reba McEntire, Don Henley, Wynonna Judd, and most recently, The Goo Goo Dolls.
DeGraw’s inimitable voice and soulful style boldly bloomed on his 2003 platinum-certified full-length debut, “Chariot.” It included the gold-selling single “Follow Through,” as well as platinum hits, “Chariot” and “I Don’t Want to Be.” In 2008, his self-titled second album bowed in the Top 10 of the Billboard Top 200 powered by yet another platinum-selling single, “In Love With a Girl.” His fourth project, “Sweeter,” saw him return to the Top 10 as the single “Not Over You” went on to sell more than 4 million copies.
Meanwhile, his duet with Colbie Caillat, “We Both Know,” from the motion picture “Safe Haven” garnered a Grammy nomination for Best Song Written for Visual Media.
With a front row seat to this wonderfully “wild” life led by late parents Lynne and John Wayne, DeGraw recounts his most meaningful memories and valuable lessons on his seventh full-length offering, “Face the River.”
In 2023, DeGraw released his applauded first-ever Christmas EP, “A Classic Christmas,” and earlier this year revisited the album that started it all with “Chariot 20,” a reimagined anniversary celebration of his lauded debut.
DeGraw is the rare talent who can seamlessly share the stage with Billy Joel and The Allman Brothers or Maroon 5 and Shania Twain with his signature fusion of pop, soul, country, folk and funk.
The CHRISTUS Gala, an esteemed black-tie benefit organized by the CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Foundation, stands as a beacon of sophistication and philanthropy, offering an unforgettable experience year after year. Attendees can look forward to an evening of refined entertainment, beginning with cocktails and conversation, followed by a gourmet meal, and culminating in an intimate performance by the charismatic DeGraw. Funds raised through the gala support critical lifesaving equipment and services at CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Health System facilities.
According to Hawthorne, this highly anticipated event unites the community in celebration and support of the CHRISTUS mission to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.
