The City of Vidor is hosting their second annual “Music Friendly Jam” at Conn Park that features Big Jordan Band, 1980s hair metal tribute act LA Roxx and headliner William Morgan Michael. There will also be a beer garden, talent show, kids’ zone, market vendors, food trucks and more. In 2021, Gov. Greg Abbott designated Vidor as a Music Friendly Community by the Texas Music Office (TMO). The Music Friendly Community program seeks to foster music business-related economic development in Texas cities and communities. Vidor joined more than two dozen other Texas cities that have received the official Music Friendly Community designation. The city has had an outsized influence on the country scene thanks to the likes of Tracy Byrd and Clay Walker.
