Up, up and away

Bridge City Chamber of Commerce is slated to host its inaugural Hot Air Balloon Glo Festival on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 5-10 p.m. 

The first event of its kind, the festival will be held at 1035 West Round Bunch Road in Bridge City and will feature 10 grounded balloons, as well as a tethered balloon for rides. Tethered balloon rides will cost $25 each, and only cash will be accepted. 

Families are invited to enjoy vendor booths, a glo golf cart parade slated to begin at 9 p.m., performances, a free kid zone, a petting zoo and food trucks. 

The main stage will feature entertainment by Running on Credit and the Jamie Nichols Band. 

Admission to the festival will cost $10 for those ages 7 and up, as children 6 and under will be admitted free of charge.
