Chevron requests Wildlife Preserve acreage

In a meeting set for Thursday, Aug. 22, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission will consider authorizing a pipeline easement of approximately 3 acres at the J.D. Murphree Wildlife Management Area in Jefferson County to Chevron Phillips Chemical (Chevron). The public will have an opportunity to comment on the proposed transaction before the commission is set to take action at its meeting, which will start at 9 a.m. at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Headquarters, 4200 Smith School Rd. in Austin. Prior to the meeting, public comment may be submitted to Stan David, Land Conservation, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, 4200 Smith School Rd., Austin, Texas 78744, by email to Real.Estate.Comment@tpwd.texas.gov, or via the department’s website at www.tpwd.texas.gov.

According to the commission’s notice of pending approval, Chevron is seeking an easement across the J.D. Murphree Wildlife Management Area (WMA) for the construction and installation of a 12-inch highly volatile liquids (HVL) pipeline.
