Aug. 6, the Lamar University Police Department contacted Beaumont area game wardens to report that a “small,” four-to-five-foot alligator became a little too friendly at the Spindletop Museum, the Texas Game Warden agency reported. Texas Game Warden Brandon New was in the area and responded within minutes, the agency detailed, and caught “the little guy” and relocated him to a habitat in the marsh a few miles away.
“Please remember that alligators contribute to a vibrant Texas ecosystem and their natural habitat may be near populated areas,” the Texas Game Warden association reminds. “If you encounter an alligator in the wild, leave it alone.”
