The Beaumont Police Department (BPD) is looking for a local transient Hispanic male who has been missing and matches the description of the unidentified deceased male discovered at 1345 College St. in July 22.
According to BPD, several officers have reported that they have not seen Fabian Hernandez.
"At this time, we are attempting to check the welfare of Fabian Hernandez," BPD stated in a July 30 statement.
Police reported the human remains were in an advanced state of decomposition, making identification difficult. The deceased male is believed to be a Caucasian or Hispanic, age 30 to 40, with a height between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot. The male was missing a tooth on his front bottom jaw, which is believed to have been lost before death.
Forensic analysis suggests the individual died approximately two weeks prior to discovery. The remains were sent to University of North Texas for further analysis and results could take time.
Anyone with information regarding the recent whereabouts of Hernandez or any recent associates of his are urged to contact BPD detectives at (409) 832-1234 or Southeast Texas Crime Stoppers at 409-833-TIPS (8477).
