Interview with Steve-O

'Jackass' star to perform 'The Bucket List Tour' on Dec. 14 at Julie Rogers Theatre

The man, the myth, the legend. Steve-O, born Stephen Glover, comes to Beaumont for “The Bucket List Tour” at the Julie Rogers Theatre (765 Pearl St.) on Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m.

The “Jackass” star, stand-up comedian, and “New York Times” best-selling author has too many crazy ideas. Every idea on his “bucket list” was so ill-advised, he never expected to go through with any of them. Until it was time to prepare for this tour. Not only are the stunts more ridiculous than what you already know Steve-O for, he did them all, and made a multimedia comedy show out of them. Not for kids, or the faint of heart.

For adult audiences only, this show contains graphic footage. Doors open at 6 p.m. Ticket prices start at $32 and can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com.

Steve-O was willing to do whatever it took to become famous, even if it meant stapling body parts together. After failing miserably at the University of Miami and couch-surfing with friends, he decided that in order to further his goal of becoming a stuntman he would enroll in Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Clown College. But it was his relentless attention whoring that ultimately led to working with Johnny Knoxville on a new stunt-based reality show called “Jackass.”

In 2000, MTV aired the first season and the rest is history. Since then, he’s had continued success, as a “New York Times” best-selling author with the release of his memoir, “Professional Idiot.” His second book, “A Hard Kick in the Nuts: What I’ve Learned From a Lifetime of Terrible Decisions,” was released in September.

With 14 years of sobriety under his belt, Steve-O shows no signs of slowing down. He can currently be found selling out theatres across the country. Earlier this year, he rejoined Knoxville and the rest of the “Jackass” crew for the film “Jackass Forever,” which opened No. 1 at the box office.

He also produces content for his YouTube channel that routinely racks up millions of views, and his “Wild Ride with Steve-O” podcast has proven to be a fan favorite with guests like Post Malone, Demi Lovato, Shaq, Tom Delonge from Blink 182, and more.

We spoke with Steve-O about the tour, the books and his wild and crazy career.
