Just before noon on July 20, Beaumont police responded to an auto pedestrian accident in the 1600 block of I-10 South, according to a news release.
Preliminary investigation revealed the victim, identified as 50-year-old Mark Parkerson, was attempting to cross the interstate when he was struck by a Ford F-150 truck. Parkerson was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver was transported to Baptist Hospital and treated for their injuries. The Beaumont Police Traffic Unit is continuing the investigation.
