Homeless man found dead at park

The Beaumont Police Department (BPD) investigated the death of a homeless man on Nov. 26. BPD reported officers responded to a welfare check call at 3 p.m. about a homeless man at Central Park at the corner of Fourth and Fannin Street. The man’s body was found near a park bench.

With the cooler winter weather comes an increase in home fires and area fire departments are keeping busy. Nov. 24, the body of an 83-year-old woman was found after a fire destroyed a home in Groves. The blaze happened about 3 p.m.
