Shining bright through a dark time

By Chad Cooper   It’s a symbolic gesture of hope. Residents of Orangefield, or anyone for that matter, will notice the lights at F.L. McClain Football Stadium at Orangefield High School are brightly shining on an empty stadium, weekdays from 8-9 p.m.

BPD searching for homicide suspect

Tuesday, March 31, at 9:44 p.m., Beaumont police responded to the 9300 block of Riggs Street in reference to a victim of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they located the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. Beaumont EMS were called to the scene and pronounced the victim dead.

Beaumont confirms 3 new COVID-19 cases

March 31, 2020 the Beaumont Public Health Department (BPHD) received confirmation of 3 positive cases of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Beaumont, bringing the total number of cases to 21 (19 in Beaumont and 2 in the unincorporated areas of Jefferson County).

UPDATE: After the daily briefing, the city of Beaumont announced three more positive cases in the city, two between the ages of 55 and 59, the other between the age of 85 and 90.

Abbott: Texas schools closed through April
