Dice game shooting lands man 28-year sentence

A 21-year old Beaumont man was sentenced to 28 years in prison Friday, June 4, according to a news release from the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office. Javante Jordan Stoker was found guilty by a jury and sentenced to 28 years in prison by Judge John B. Stevens court.

Overturned auto stalls traffic

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office managed the scene of an accident that stalled a portion of Interstate 10 on Monday morning, June 7. Deputies responded to the accident, IH-10 westbound near the 838-mile marker, and reported reopening the portion of roadway by 8 a.m.
