At least 146 Beaumont-area residents tested positive for COVID-19 Aug. 3, according to Beaumont Mayor Robin Mouton’s daily update. That number includes 132 Beaumont residents, as well as two from China, four from Nome, two from Hamshire, five from Fannett and one from Bevil Oaks.

A Port Arthur man has pleaded guilty to a federal firearms violation in the Eastern District of Texas, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Ganjei Aug. 2. Jesus Antonio Ceja, 30, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm today before U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone.
