West Brook still under lockdown

Although students were seen walking from the West Brook High School campus after police identified a weapon threat, the school was still in lockdown at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25, according to a district spokesperson.

The Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD) reported two drug arrests during which officers confiscated several pounds of multiple drugs. According to an Oct. 15 news release, PAPD officers conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation in the 2200 block of Highway 73.

Surveillance catches credit card crook

The Beaumont Police Department (BPD) is asking for the public’s help identifying an alleged credit card abuser caught using a stolen card at a local store in July.

Crime News: BPD charges 20-year-old with murder

Beaumont Police Department (BPD) detectives Oct. 14 filed a second murder charge in relation to a murder that occurred on Hayes Lane Aug. 25. After charging a 14-year-old with murder in this case, BPD detectives charged Beaumont resident Elijah Jakquel Guillory, 20, with the same.

A week before turning 38, Beaumont Mayor Robin Mouton’s son was indicted Oct. 13 for possession of a controlled substance after a woman called complaining that he hit her with her own car in the parking lot of America’s Best Value Inn on I-10.
