Gift of Life Ribbon Run set for Saturday morning

Gift of Life, vocalist Christina Wells and an anticipated 2,500 walkers, runners, survivors and volunteers is set to participate in the annual Julie Richardson Procter 5K Ribbon Run "Monster Dash" on Saturday, Oct. 30, in downtown Beaumont outside at the Civic Center. Registration begins at 6 a.m.

A few tricks to safely treat this Halloween

Oct. 31 falls on a Sunday this year and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has pledged to work to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents as celebrations and trick-or-treating ensue.
