Lumberton man pleads guilty to child pornography production

A Lumberton man has pleaded guilty to federal child pornography violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney Brit Featherston Dec. 9. Stephen John Pieper, 23, pleaded guilty to three counts of production of child pornography today before U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone.

Texas confirms COVID-19 Omicron variant case

Dec. 6, the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) announced that the first known Texas case of the COVID-19 B.1.1.529 (aka the Omicron strand) variant has been identified in a resident of Harris County. The adult female resident was recently diagnosed with COVID-19.

'Absconded'

Convicted sex offender and counterfeiter Christopher Shaun Drucker, 41, of Orange has again failed to register as a sex offender with the Orange Police Department (OPD), according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Sex Offender Registry, which lists him as “absconded” as of Dec. 8.
