Convicted sex offender and counterfeiter Christopher Shaun Drucker, 41, of Orange has again failed to register as a sex offender with the Orange Police Department (OPD), according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Sex Offender Registry, which lists him as “absconded” as of Dec. 8.

After learning the city doesn’t own prime property to berth the USS Texas in downtown Beaumont, city council members said the proposal could be dead in the water at a regularly scheduled meeting Dec. 7. It would cost the city an estimated  $5.

After pleading guilty to two counts of money laundering Monday, Dec. 6, a 65-year-old Beaumonter received a four-year sentence and was ordered to pay $18,000 in restitution after defrauding businesses and a church for more than $100,000.
