A Beaumont man has been sentenced to prison for federal violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney Brit Featherston Jan. 4. Moses Ray Rhine, Jr., 21, pleaded guilty on Aug.

The Beaumont Public Health Department announced 994 COVID-19 case confirmations among Beaumont-area residents between New Year’s Eve and Jan. 3. According to the news release, 397 residents tested positive Monday, Jan. 3, while 238 tested positive Jan. 2 and 175 tested positive New Year’s Day.
