Child sex offender pleads guilty

On July 11, Port Arthur police announced that a sex offender had been sentenced to 35 years in prison for the contnuous sexual abuse of a “young child or children.”
Eduardo Briones, pleaded to 35 years in prison for his invovlement in the crime of continuous sexual abuse of young child or children.

A Silsbee man was arrested on a warrant in Tyler County. According to Sheriff Bryan Weatherford, Ethan Key, 18, was arrested and charged with felony theft on July 5.

Drone drops contraband in prison, pilot arrested

Announcing federal charges against a man accused of using a drone to deliver contraband to prisoners at the Federal Correctional Complex in Beaumont, local U.S. Attorney Brit Featherston, along with FBI representatives, said it was only the third such case in the country to develop into charges.
