O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree. The City of Beaumont will jumpstart the holiday season and invites the entire community of Southeast Texas on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the Downtown Event Centre Lake with the largest Christmas tree lighting in town.
The original team behind the Tony Award-winning Broadway hit reunites with “Million Dollar Quartet Christmas,” the brand-new heartwarming holiday rock-n-roll musical, coming to the Lutcher Theater in Orange on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 7:30 p.m.
Ford Park is hosting Magic of Lights for the first time this holiday season. Now through Jan. 1, 2023 (closed on Nov. 26), this drive-through will feature displays this year such as Barbie, 12 Days of Christmas, Big Foot Monster Trucks, Prehistoric Christmas and the Enchanting Tunnel of Lights.
Beaumont Community Players will get into the holiday spirit with “It’s a Wonderful Life – a 1940s Radio Play” beginning Friday, Nov. 25 through Sunday, Dec. 11. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee on Nov. 27, Dec. 3-4 and Dec. 11.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is stepping up enforcement for the Thanksgiving holiday to ensure people are able to get to and from their celebrations safely. Texas Highway Patrol Troopers will increase enforcement on the roads from Wednesday, Nov. 23, through Sunday, Nov. 27.
Lamar University is parting ways with head football coach Blane Morgan announced Jeff O’Malley Monday morning. The decision comes following 2022 season that saw LU post a 1-10 overall record and a 1-5 mark in Southland Conference play.
