A search for a man who went missing from a tugboat in the Gulf Coast near Sabine Pass was suspended Feb. 7. The U.S. Coast Guard reported the search covered 206 square miles in a 23-hour period. The 35-year-old man was on the Smith Invader Tug vessel, last seen at 10 p.m. Feb.

Driver killed while street racing in Chambers County

A Harris County man was killed while street racing on Interstate 10 with other sports cars on Feb. 4, according to Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne. Aniket Sanyal, 32, of Houston, died in the crash on the 1-10 east service road in Winnie. According to Hawthorne, at about 2:30 p.m.
