Sip and Stroll

Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center invites the public to experience the gardens after-hours during their Sip and Stroll event series Thursday June 15, from 5-8 p.m. This event is a collaboration with Free State Cellars and is free to attend.

Movies in the Park

Beaumont Recreation recently announced the return of Movies in the Park. The next event is Friday, June 9, at the softball field at the Athletic Complex located at 1150 Langham Road.

Classic Movie Night at the Jefferson

The Jefferson Theatre will play host a “Skywalker Saga” on Friday, June 9, as Classic Movie Night is set for the 1983 space film, “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.” Tickets are $4 for kids, $6 for adults, and can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com or at the venue, evening of the show.

Lamar University mourns the loss of Don Bryson

Lamar University lost one of its all-time greats with the passing of Don Bryson on Wednesday. Known for being the first All-American in Lamar basketball history, Bryson was a stylish southpaw who wrapped up a standout career in 1965.
