Two teen bystanders shot in drive-by

Just before 1 a.m. July 23, Port Arthur police responded to a shooting at The Pointe Apartments, according to a news release.

Upon arrival, officers located two gunshot victims, one 15 and the other 16 years old. Initial investigation revealed a vehicle drove by the apartment complex and fired multiple shots into the parking lot. One of the victims was hit in his upper body and was listed in serious condition at a local hospital. The second victim was hit in his arm and listed in stable condition.

Police believe both victims were innocent bystanders in this aggravated assault. The cause of this shooting is currently under investigation.
