The city of Orange announced the Sabine River Authority (SRA) presented a $30,000 grant supporting improvements to the city's water system on May 1.
According to city officials, the funds are designated for portable automatic flushing hydrants, which will allow us to schedule system flushing during off-peak hours.
"This will help maintain consistent operating pressures and proper chlorine levels, reduce discoloration in low-usage areas caused by naturally occurring minerals like iron, manganese, and copper, lower labor and vehicle costs, and use up to 50% less water," they added.
