The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office held a dedication ceremony April 22 for a conference room now named in honor of Deputy Lesley Jo Wade, according to Sheriff Chuck Havard.
Wade, 24, died in an off-duty auto collision Dec. 27, 2024.
Havard said Wade served Jasper County with “unwavering pride, compassion and integrity,” alongside her husband, Lt. Chris Wade.
“She was one of our most fearless deputies, never backing down from a challenge and always putting others before herself,” Havard said.
Family members and colleagues attended the ceremony.
“While her loss is felt every day, her legacy will live on within these walls and in the hearts of those who knew and served with her. Her name will forever be carried with the same pride, courage, and strength she showed each and every day behind the badge,” Havard added.
