Around 9 p.m., Port Arthur police were dispatched to a stabbing that occurred in the 2100 block of Birch Street, according to a news release.
Upon arrival, officers located the victim with serious injuries before he was transported to a local hospital and listed in stable condition. Witnesses advised a Hispanic man known to the victim approached him during a verbal altercation. The suspect then brandished a knife and stabbed the victim several times in the upper portion of his body, according to the release, before fleeing on foot.
The incident is under investigation and the suspect has not been located.
