April 3, Port Arthur police arrested two men suspected of killing a 42-year-old man July 2019, according to a news release.
Officers arrested Rakeem Roache and Jayleen Lott for the murder of Joel Lopez Martinez. The victim was shot and killed at his residence July 19, 2019 around 1 a.m.
Lott was located within Port Arthur and taken into custody without incident. PAPD investigators with the Narcotics and Gun unit tracked Roache to Baytown. With the assistance of Baytown PD, Roache was taken into custody without incident. Roache is currently being held at the Harris County Correctional Facility. Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division worked tirelessly to bring those responsible for the death of Joel Martinez to justice.
This incident is under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division with the Port Arthur Police Department.
