PA woman stabs her child's father, no charge filed

Around 10:30 p.m. June 26, Port Arthur police responded to Park Central Apartments in reference to a stabbing, according to a news release.

Upon arrival, officers located a 39-year-old black man with a stab wound to his lower torso. The victim, a Port Arthur resident, was conscious and speaking when officers arrived. The injury did not appear to be life-threatening, according to EMS personnel. The victim was subsequently transported to St. Elizabeth for emergency medical treatment.

Preliminary investigation revealed the victim was stabbed in the middle of an altercation with a female suspect, who was identified as the mother of the victim’s child. The victim was adamant no charges be filed, according to the release.

PAPD detectives responded to the scene and spoke with involved parties. PAPD’s forensic unit was summoned to photographically document the crime scene and collect pertinent evidence for review. The incident is under investigation.
