Just past noon on May 23, Louisiana and Texas police allied to arrest a 20-year-old Port Arthur man for the murder of a 26-year-old last month, according to a news release.

Jovan Neveaux was arrested in St. Landry Parish for the murder of Jaylon Howard of Port Arthur. He will eventually be extradited back to Texas for the murder warrant. Upon his arrest, Neveaux was found with more than 2,000 ecstasy pills. He was arrested with fellow Port Arthur resident Chante Grogan, who the release says helped Neveaux avoid arrest. She was arrested for being an accessory to a homicide after the fact.

The investigation began April 15, when officers say Neveaux and several armed subjects entered Howard’s home and demanded money. Officers arrived to find the victim with gunshot wounds.
