A Port Arthur man turned himself in Monday for a murder that occurred fewer than 24 hours prior, according to a news release.

Darian Petry, 46, voluntarily came to the Port Arthur Police Department and confessed to the murder of 30-year-old Kenneth Swallow. The victim was found unresponsive on 10th Street after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds.

Early investigation has revealed Swallow and Petry were acquaintances, but a motive has yet to be determined.

PAPD arrested Petry for murder and transported him to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility.
