A 26-year-old Nederland man was arrested Oct. 1 on 10 counts of child pornography possession, according to a news release from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
Oct. 1, criminal investigators with the Texas Office of the Attorney General’s Child Exploitation Unit, along JCSO criminal investigators executed an evidentiary search warrant at a residence in Nederland in reference to possession or promotion of child pornography.
This search warrant was the result of a National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) cyber tip line report involving the upload of child pornography to an online storage account. Evidence was seized and Simon was arrested and booked into the Jefferson County Correctional Facility on ten counts of possession of child pornography, all third degree felony offenses. His bonds totaled $2.5 million. If found guilty, Simon faces a maximum 10 year sentence and $10,000 fine for each offense.
